The dried chaga fruiting bodies used by Kääpä Mushrooms are truly powerful — they undergo a two-step extraction, using hot water and alcohol in a 1:5 ratio. This is why the tincture has such potency and an abundance of active compounds that the body can easily absorb.

Why did this tincture convince us?

• It’s made from fruiting bodies, not mycelium. All beneficial compounds are found in the above-ground part of the chaga. Some producers use lab-grown mycelium, but those products often lack key active compounds.
• It’s created using a dual extraction method. The mushroom’s cell wall is made of chitin, a polysaccharide the human body cannot break down. Dual extraction breaks the chitin barrier using hot water, alcohol, and UAE (Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction). This allows the producer to extract both water-soluble and alcohol-soluble compounds.

You may know chaga as *Inonotus obliquus* or as the legendary “mushroom of immortality.” It earned that nickname for a reason. It contains many types of polysaccharides, especially beta-glucans. You’ll also find triterpenes, plus betulin and betulinic acid, which chaga absorbs from birch trees on which it grows. We must also mention beneficial phenols and phenolic compounds, the powerful antioxidant melanin, B-vitamins, vitamin D, and beta-carotene. Minerals and trace elements include magnesium, sodium, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, manganese, and the antioxidant germanium. We can’t tell you more about health claims — EU legislation strictly limits what can be stated about food supplements, even though chaga has been used in traditional medicine for centuries and many scientific studies examine its effects. How to dose the tincture?

• Start slowly and increase the number of drops as needed.
• The recommended maximum daily dose is 2 ml — that’s 50–52 drops (one pipette from the 30 ml bottle holds 0.6 ml).
• Apply directly under the tongue or mix into water, tea, coffee, or a smoothie.
• You can use it daily. After every 3 months, take a one-week break.
