Product detailed description
The coral tooth mushroom, Hericium erinaceus – also known as the “mushroom of the 21st century” – resembles a lion’s mane or a neatly trimmed hipster beard and was once reserved for royal families. Today, you can draw from its strength too. We regularly open a bottle of this lion’s mane tincture. Victoria likes to take a few drops before an important meeting or when diving into deep scientific research. We recommend this tincture from KÄÄPÄ Mushrooms for its exceptional quality. The extract comes from organically grown lion’s mane cultivated in perfect harmony with the pristine Finnish forest. It has undergone double extraction with hot water and alcohol at a 1:5 ratio, resulting in a potent extract rich in active compounds that the body easily absorbs.

Why this tincture won us over
- Made from fruiting bodies, not mycelium. The beneficial compounds are concentrated in the fruiting body of the mushroom. Some producers use lab-grown mycelium, but their products may lack key active ingredients.
- Produced using a double extraction method. The mushroom’s cell wall is composed of the polysaccharide chitin, which the human body cannot digest. Double extraction breaks this barrier using hot water, alcohol, and UAE (Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction) technology, obtaining both water- and alcohol-soluble compounds.
- Highly concentrated and easy to absorb. Each drop delivers the maximum amount of lion’s mane actives. UAE technology ensures excellent bioavailability of these biologically active compounds.
- Grown outdoors in Finland. Cultivated on FSC- and PEFC-certified birch substrate.
Why we take lion’s mane regularly
This versatile mushroom has been a part of traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. Often referred to as “neuron food,” it has earned the nickname “mushroom of the 21st century.” Key compounds include threitol, D-arabinitol, and palmitic acid.
Unfortunately, we cannot share any specific health claims about lion’s mane. EU legislation does not allow us to make such statements about dietary supplements, even though many scientific studies have explored its properties and it has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. In Finland, all the interesting stories are born in the sauna. When an avid mushroom grower, a mycologist, a forest manager and a marketing expert met in a steam bath in 2016, the story of the KÄÄPÄ Mushrooms brand was born. These mushrooms are grown both indoors and outdoors, the forest farms today boast over 20,000 birch logs for the cultivation of functional fungi. In the cultivation of the chaga mushroom, they are at the very top of the world rankings. The clean air and carefully managed forests also help them achieve a high amount of active compounds in their mushrooms. The brand also includes the biotechnology company KÄÄPÄ Biotech, whose main goal is to improve human health and the health of the entire ecosystem.
